Close The Deal.
A few days prior to closing you will meet at your lawyer/notary office to review the conveyancing documents and the statement of adjustments. Once signed by all parties, the documents are lodged for registration. After registration takes place, the lawyer/notary looks after all the disbursements.
After the closing, you should make a "to do" list for turning the property over to the new owners.
Here is a checklist to get you started:
1. Cancel electricity, gas, lawn care, cable and other routine services.
2. If the new owner is retaining any of the services, change the name on the account.
3. Gather owner's manuals and warranties for all conveying appliances.
